Aliakbar Jalali is working as a Visiting Professor at the University of Maryland, Collage Park and he currently for second time is appointed as an adjunct professor in the Lane Department of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering at the West Virginia University. He was working as a professor at the school of Electrical Engineering, Iran University of Science and Technology (IUST) since 1994. Throughout his work with IUST he has defined, led and managed research and development teams in the areas of Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Internet of Things (IOT), 3D Printers and Control Systems Design and their Applications. .
Jalali is widely known and respected for his research, presentations, publications and public relation programs. He has written more than 50 books or chapters in addition to more than 300 journal papers, iesconference papers and articles. He is the author of reference books in advanced control systems theory, titled “Reduced Order Systems”, Springer, 2006. For the last 22 years, Jalali has taught at a graduate and undergraduate level, supervised several Ph.D., M.S. and B.S. students at the Iran University of Science and Technology.
He is UNESCO chair in e-learning, member of “National Information for all Committee” in Iranian National Commission for UNESCO. He is a member of executive board for Iran Information and Communication Technology Association and a member of executive board for Iranian Information Society Association.
